We are looking for dedicated and professional Sensory Support Officers (x2) to join our team, to deliver a high-quality service to our service users who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or have Hearing Loss in Cumbria ensuring the best support and advice on technical equipment is provided to meet their individual needs.
- Conduct assessments, provide technical equipment and general advice while maintaining professionalism and understanding risk management, safeguarding issues, and legislation.
- Offer information and guidance in regard to issues related to the service users/families when needed.i.e. benefits, housing, income maximisation, support etc
- Referring individuals on to other agencies when required
- Proactively guide users to appropriate resources when required
- Coordinate service user appointments re-equipment/advice and guidance either in the individuals accommodation or community venue
- Attend “drop ins” when required
- Adhering to Organisational policies while promoting the BID mission statement and core values.
To be successful for this post:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management
- Understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations
- Commitment to continuous personal development and training
