We are looking for 2 Community Support Workers to join our team at Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) Sensory Services. There are 2 roles available, 15 hours per week, Monday and Friday only or Thursday and Friday only.
You would be providing support to people with sight or dual sensory loss to maintain their independence at home and within the community. Responsibilities include:
- Working with people within their own homes or assisting with travel.
- Enabling people to access services within their communities.
- Enabling people with sight or dual sensory loss to access ships and provide audio description to enable personal choice.
- Enabling individuals to manage their money and make informed choices in relation to their financial affairs.
- Providing support to people to access recreational activities of their choice or medical appointments.
To be successful for this post, you will have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of sight and dual sensory loss.
- 3 years' experience of working in a Health and Social care setting supporting individuals with sight or dual sensory loss.
