Are you an experienced care worker, who has a passion for supporting individuals with sensory impairments and learning disabilities, and has BSL skills?

We have an opportunity for a Residential Support Worker to join our team in Chesterberry Residential Care home in Erdington, Birmingham to provide support and guidance in day-to-day life to Deaf people who may have other sensory impairments and learning disabilities, enabling residents to be as independent as they possibly can.

You will work as part of a dedicated team within a residential care home setting, assisting residents by providing personal care and support, administering medication and carrying out domestic tasks for the wellbeing of our residents. This service operates 24 hours and 7 days a week. You will also be required to accompany our residents on day trips, holidays, and evening activities, to maintain the family/friend ethos in our home for life.

  • Experience of providing personal care, preferably having worked with residents in a care home setting who have sensory impairment.
  • Have British Sign Language (BSL) level 1, working towards BSL level 2 as a minimum.
  • Either hold or be prepared to achieve a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care.
