We are looking for a Community Coordinator / Project Officer to join our teams in Birmingham, working within our community services and alongside external partners who fund our services. This split role is for up to 16 hours per week, with weekly hours of 13.5 and an additional 2.5 hours every other week.
Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for day-to-day delivery of the Community Service, developing a range of activities and events based on the group’s interests.
- To be responsible for promoting, planning and monitoring activities.
- Increase awareness of community experiences of health inequalities by working with external partners e.g. Public Health.
- To coordinate and supervise volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Experience in working with Deaf/Hard of hearing communities.
- Experience in arranging activities and delivering social groups.
- Understanding and respectful of the needs of different people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Lived experience of deafness or hearing loss, and an understanding of the barriers faced by the Deaf community.
- To be organised, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
