The Bid Writer role will see you supporting the production of high-quality, strategically focused bid submissions across a range of complex opportunities, working closely alongside operational, commercial and pre-construction teams throughout the full tender process.

The business has an established presence within the social housing market and is recognised for delivering large-scale refurbishment, regeneration and maintenance programmes across the UK. With a stable and collaborative bid function already in place, this position would suit an experienced Bid Writer looking to work within a structured environment where quality, process and long-term client relationships are genuinely valued.

Your Duties:

  • Formulate high-quality submissions and when required post tender interview presentations to meet and exceed client specifications.
  • Assemble and coordinate cross-functional teams from different divisions / departments across the company. Maintain clear and regular communication to ensure everyone is aligned with bid requirements and expectations.
  • Organise and chair tender launch meetings. Ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Identify and then ensure win themes are effectively articulated throughout the bid response, demonstrating a clear understanding of client needs and how the business can meet them.
  • Identify potential risks (technical, financial, legal) throughout the bid process and work with internal teams to effectively mitigate these risks.
  • Ensure all bids comply with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements. Stay informed of regulatory changes and incorporate them into bid submissions.
  • Organise debriefing sessions with clients and intermediaries after bid submissions to gather feedback and use this information to improve future bid submissions.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Bid Writer within the construction and social housing maintenance sectors.
  • Understanding of the social housing sector (housing associations / local authorities).
  • Willing to commute to Woodford Green 3 days per week.
