Overview
An established accountancy practice is seeking a dynamic Client Manager to join a collaborative team of 14 in their Stratford-upon-Avon office. This position would suit a motivated individual who has gained solid experience as a Semi-Senior advising owner-managed businesses (small & micro limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships) on accounts and tax matters, now looking to step up into a Senior / Client Manager role.
Working alongside Senior Managers and Partners, this role involves managing client relationships, completing and reviewing technical work, and mentoring junior colleagues. Complex tax issues are handled by a dedicated Senior Tax Manager, making this ideal for someone confident in handling core business advice, basic personal tax, and profit extraction.
Job Responsibilities
- Client Management: Act as a key point of contact for clients, holding face-to-face meetings and handling routine queries regarding accounts, tax matters, and profit extraction.
- Technical Review & Delivery: Hands-on preparation and thorough review of accounts (including FRS 102 1a) and tax work completed by junior team members before submission to Senior Managers and Partners.
- Team Mentorship: Provide ongoing support, guidance, and technical assistance to junior accounts, bookkeeping, and tax staff in the office.
- Cross-Service Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts, personal/business tax, company secretarial, and payroll functions.
- Business Advisory: Advise owner-managed businesses, sole traders, and limited company directors on basic personal tax affairs, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and day-to-day accounting matters.
Job Requirements
- Practice Experience: Proven experience within a UK accountancy practice as a Semi-Senior or Senior, working directly with owner-managed businesses.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong grounding in accounts preparation, business tax, basic personal tax, CGT, and profit extraction strategies. High-level tax specialization is not required.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to meet clients and answer inquiries over the phone or in person.
- Leadership Potential: Aptitude for supporting, reviewing, and developing the work of junior accounts and tax colleagues.
- Working Style: Thrives in an office-centric environment to support team members, with flexibility for hybrid working.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive Remuneration: £38,000 - £50,000 (dependent on depth of experience).
- Flexible Working: Hybrid working policy in place (minimum 3 days office-based).
- Team & Culture: Supportive, collaborative office environment within a wider multi-office firm.
