What You’ll Be Doing:
You will be responsible for the delivery and collection of company assets throughout the UK.
Your role will include various duties, including being fully responsible for safe operation and road worthiness of the vehicle you are allocated to drive and the safety and security of the load you are transporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Complete walk round and safety checks daily
- Identify and report any vehicle defect immediately
- Adhere to and follow safe systems of work and RAMS
- Load and secure equipment accordingly
- Fully comply with EU directive on drivers’ hours and tachographs
- Fully comply with the highway code
- Ensure assets are delivered to a high standard
- Ensure vehicle & cab is kept clean
- Complete workloads through BCA
- Ensure delivery/collections are completed on time and in full
- Plan routes effectively
- Ensure any damage is captured using BCA
- Apply safe and fuel-efficient driving techniques
- Reduce engine idling
- Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional manner
- Actively promote Garic product and services to customers
- Keep your knowledge and skills up to date and keep abreast of new legislation
What We’re Looking For:
- Full understanding of EU drivers’ hours and working time laws
- Category C entitlement
- Valid DCPC card
- Category C+E entitlement
These qualities would be a great help:
- 1 year driving experience within construction sector
- 2-year lorry loader experience
- Clean driving licence
- ALLMI unlimited lorry loader training OR CPCS lorry loader (HOOK)
