Are you an experienced professional driver with the experience of driving a 7.5t van and towing experience, along with an enthusiastic and flexible work ethic? We’re looking for a Van Driver to join our Transport and Service Teams in this dual role.
What You’ll Be Doing: This is a hands-on, varied role combining driving, towing, and basic mechanical servicing. You’ll play a vital part in servicing welfare units on customer sites and delivering and collecting equipment nationwide.
The Role: This dual role involves operating both a 7.5T service vehicle and a standard van with towed assets, depending on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities – Service Vehicle:
- Carry out water and fuel replenishment and remove effluent waste from welfare units
- Replenish consumables at customer sites
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and tachograph legislation
- Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and well maintained
- Represent Garic professionally at all times
Key Responsibilities – Delivery & Towing:
- Deliver and collect equipment across Scotland and the UK
- Safely load, secure, and transport equipment
- Complete daily vehicle walk-round checks and report defects
- Comply with EU Drivers’ Hours and tachograph regulations
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Provide excellent customer service and promote Garic products
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven towing experience
- HGV Category C licence
- Valid DCPC (35 hours completed)
- CSCS card
- Ability to operate both a 7.5T service vehicle and towing van
- Flexible approach to hours, including early starts
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for vehicle safety
Has a flexible approach, including working away at times, occasional evening and weekend work.
