Are you an experienced professional Van Driver with towing experience and an enthusiastic and flexible work ethic? We’re looking for a Van Driver to join our Transport Team at Garic, where you will be required to tow trailers of various sizes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will be responsible for the delivery and collection of company assets throughout the UK. Your role will include various duties, including being fully responsible for the safe operation and roadworthiness of the vehicle you are allocated to drive and the safety and security of the load you are transporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Safety performance and culture:
- Complete walk round and safety checks daily
- Identify and report any vehicle defect immediately
- Adhere to and follow safe systems of work and RAMS
- Load and secure equipment accordingly
- Fully comply with EU directive on drivers’ hours and tachographs
- Fully comply with the highway code
- Quality:
- Ensure assets are delivered to a high standard
- Ensure vehicle is kept in a good clean condition
- Delivery:
- Complete workloads through BCA
- Ensure delivery/collections are completed on time and in full
- Plan routes effectively
- Cost:
- Ensure any damage is captured using BCA
- Apply safe and fuel-efficient driving techniques
- Reduce engine idling
- People:
- Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional manner
- Actively promote Garic products and services to customers
- Keep your knowledge and skills up to date and keep abreast of new legislation
What We’re Looking For:
- Driving Licence - B+E entitlement
- Towing experience and knowledge
- Digital tacho card
- Understanding of EU drivers’ hours and working time laws
- Ability to carry out pre-use safety checks
- Driving experience within a multi-drop role
- Has a flexible approach, including working away at times, occasional evening and weekend work.
