Bibby Financial Services are growing, and we’re looking for a Head of Bad Debt Protection to join our Team on a Fixed Term contract. The Head of Bad Debt Protection will be responsible for leading and evolving Bad Debt Protection (BDP), a product which makes a significant contribution to BFS profitability and supports SME success. You will drive sustainable growth, enabling BFS to deliver insight‑led, technology‑enabled risk solutions that support SME success.
You will shape and deliver a high‑performing, future‑ready BDP function that balances commercial growth, risk management and exceptional customer outcomes. You will have leadership responsibility for a specialist team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery to all BFS colleagues and our clients, and you will contribute to the overall risk strategy of BFS by leading a team of Debtor Risk Analysts. You will partner with key stakeholders across the business to ensure BDP is embedded as a core part of our offering. You will manage internal relationships to a high standard, achieved by embedding excellent risk management and service delivery across all functions. You will also maintain exceptional external relationships with Credit Insurers and Credit Insurance Brokers, to ensure BFS has access to industry expertise, preserving strong supplier relationships by proactively promoting the BFS brand.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the BDP team and other key stakeholders through the creation and implementation of a BDP Centre of Excellence, taking on full responsibility for the BDP product in Ireland and the Netherlands whilst maintaining exceptional service levels for the UK business.
- Take a leading role in BDP system and platform development, ensuring strong user experience and risk capability.
- Drive product penetration across targeted client segments, supporting growth and cross‑sell opportunities.
- Maximise income and profitability while ensuring effective risk mitigation and control.
- Balance risk and reward to protect BFS while enabling sustainable growth.
- Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of Credit Insurance relevant to the aims of BFS.
- Lead, inspire and develop a high‑performing Bad Debt Protection team.
- Create an inclusive, engaged environment where colleagues feel supported and empowered to perform.
- Build strategic relationships with Credit Insurers (and Brokers, as appropriate) to access expertise and optimise coverage.
- Maintain a strong relationship with the platform provider, working with them to quickly identify and resolve technical issues, as well as manage service levels, drive system enhancements and test new functionalities.
Who are we looking for?
- Proven experience of invoice finance credit risk management; leading, managing and developing a team, and of risk issues in the financial services industry.
- Experience of RiskFactor or other similar data analysis tools.
- Commercial awareness.
- Ability to balance growth with risk management.
- UK Finance Certificate.
