Role Description
As an EV Installer at Bibby Energy Solutions, you will be responsible for the on‑site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electric vehicle charge points across the Greater Liverpool Area. This role includes conducting site surveys, assessing electrical requirements, and installing EV chargers in line with current regulations and company standards. You will perform testing, fault‑finding, and repairs, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently, and complete all relevant documentation and certification. The role involves working closely with project managers, clients, and other engineers to plan installations, coordinate access, and provide clear updates on job progress. You will also educate customers on safe operation of their charge points, uphold health and safety procedures, and represent the company professionally on every site.
Qualifications
- Strong electrical installation skills, ideally with experience in EV charge point installation, domestic and commercial electrical systems, and safe isolation practices.
- Familiarity with relevant wiring regulations and standards (e.g., BS 7671) and associated inspection, testing, and certification processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, site plans, manufacturer specifications, and installation guides.
- Competence in fault‑finding, diagnostics, and repair of electrical and EV charging equipment, including use of appropriate test instruments.
- Good planning, time management, and organisational skills to manage multiple on‑site jobs, paperwork, and deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with clients, site contacts, and internal teams, including explaining technical information in accessible terms.
- Comfort working on‑site in varied environments, sometimes independently, with a strong focus on health, safety, and high‑quality workmanship.
- Recognised electrical qualifications or apprenticeship (e.g., Level 3 NVQ or equivalent) and a valid UK driving licence for travel to customer sites.
