About the Role
Bhuku Ltd is seeking an experienced and confident Outreach Education Tutor to deliver a unique, high-impact educational programme at HMP Frankland. This role supports prisoners who are unable to attend traditional classroom-based education due to security, behavioural or individual needs. You will deliver in-cell and outreach learning across specialist units, helping learners engage in meaningful education and personal development. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a Category A prison environment, supporting some of the most complex and vulnerable learners in custody.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver weekly outreach education sessions (AM & PM) on prison wings and specialist units
- Provide paper-based learning packs and in-cell workbooks across a wide range of subjects
- Support learners on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assess completed work and provide written feedback
- Track learner progress and contribute to progress reports and final impact reporting
- Issue unaccredited certificates upon completion
- Adapt delivery to meet neurodiverse and complex learner needs
- Work closely with prison staff including: Learning & Skills Manager, Prison officers and wing staff, Education provider (PES), Neurodiversity and support teams

About You
- Experienced in delivering education or training in challenging or non-traditional settings
- Confident working independently within a secure environment
- Skilled in engaging disengaged or low-confidence learners
- Able to adapt delivery for neurodiverse learners and varying literacy levels
- Organised, reliable and able to manage paper-based learning systems
Essential Requirements
- Experience delivering education, training or mentoring programmes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within strict security and safeguarding procedures
- Willingness to complete a 2-week prison induction
- Ability to obtain CTC (Counter Terrorism Check) clearance
Desirable
- Experience working in a prison or secure environment
- Teaching, training or coaching qualification
- Experience delivering outreach or in-cell learning
- Knowledge of SEND / neurodiversity support strategies
