Main duties of the job:
- Provision and development of exceptional ophthalmology services
- Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and ensuring the proper functioning of the department
- Actively participate in clinical governance and audits
Person Specification
Education/Qualifications:
- MBBS / MRCS / FRCS or equivalent medical qualification
- MRCOphth or equivalent
Experience/Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers and other staff
- Evidence of achievements in teaching and training portfolio
- Experience of audit and management
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team using strong communication and influencing skills
- Broad experience in the management of ophthalmology outpatients and engagement in all aspects of ophthalmology patient pathways, including in programmed Eye Casualty sessions
