Consultant Neurologist (Pending RCP approval)

BHRUT NHS Trust invites applications for an enthusiastic Consultant Neurologist to join our expanding Regional Neurosciences Centre, serving North East London and Essex. Our specialist service works closely with the cranial neurosurgical team to provide Deep Brain Stimulation and manages a dedicated Neurology ward. The team includes experienced junior doctors and Clinical Nurse Specialists running nurse-led clinics in Epilepsy, MS, Movement Disorders, Botox, and MND. Main duties of the job:

• Provide expert care for patients with neurological conditions including stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and MS.
• Perform assessments, interpret investigations, and deliver tailored treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and champion patient safety and high-quality care.
• Stay up to date with advances to drive continuous improvement.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

The successful applicant would be expected to develop and maintain an interest in research and development, take part in regular clinical governance, and be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing education. Applicants must have full GMC Registration and be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of their CCST date at interview.

Person specification:

• MRCP (UK) or an Equivalent
• Full Registration with the General Medical Council
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or be eligible for inclusion within six months of the interview date
• Peer-reviewed publications
• Presentations at international meetings
