We are looking for an Advanced Healthcare Assistant to provide holistic, person‑centred care to our diverse cohort of patients in North East London. You will work within our multidisciplinary HIV team, performing phlebotomy, vital signs monitoring, point‑of‑care tests, risk assessments, health promotion, and maintaining infection‑control standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in the HIV clinic, including phlebotomy and vital signs recording.
  • Conduct point‑of‑care tests and complete formal risk assessments such as q‑risk.
  • Assist with health‑promotion activities and support risk‑assessment processes.
  • Maintain clinic rooms, ensure equipment is clean, and coordinate stock levels with other Healthcare Assistants.
  • Support clinical staffing needs in the Integrated Sexual Health Service as required.
  • Chaperone patients, assist reception, and perform basic administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Good standard of basic education, NVQ level 3 in health‑related subject or working towards it.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, confident with phlebotomy.
  • Previous experience in an HIV or sexual health setting is essential.
  • Patient assessment skills (vital signs, formal risk assessments such as q‑risk).
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with electronic patient records.
