We are recruiting a Band 7 Ultrasound Sonographer to deliver high‑quality diagnostic ultrasound services within our Trust, supporting the superintendent radiographer and fostering training and audit leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality Diagnostic Ultrasound service to the Trust.
  • Operate under the direction of the superintendent radiographer, organising day‑to‑day departmental activities.
  • Accept responsibility for designated areas of work within the department.
  • Support trainee sonographers, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Lead and participate in centrally registered audit and continuous improvement programmes.

Person Specification

Experience

  • National Health Service experience in ultrasound imaging post‑qualification.

Education / Qualifications

  • BSc Hons or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography.

Skills / Abilities

  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient scanning skills in obstetrics, DVT, groin, hernia, testes, MSK, kidney transplants, paediatrics.

Other

  • Ability to perform the duties of the post with any aids and adaptations.
