This post is only open to internal applicants. We are looking to recruit a Band 6 midwife to join our Midwifery team as the Digital Midwife. If you are an experienced & NMC registered midwife who has an NMC PIN number and would like to make a difference to women and their families, then we would like to hear from you. Main duties of the job:
- The Band 6 Digital Midwife plays a key role in improving the quality, accuracy, and safe use of maternity electronic records across BHRUT.
- Supporting the Band 7 Digital Midwife, the postholder will focus on cleansing and validating maternity data to ensure accurate MSDS submissions and contribute to the delivery of the local digital maternity strategy.
- This role supports the ongoing transition to an end-to-end EPR system, working closely with maternity teams, BI, IT, and external stakeholders.
- Responsibilities include resolving data errors, delivering training, maintaining digital workflows, and assisting in digital audits and risk assessments.
- The postholder will also contribute to internal communications, FOI responses, and system optimisation efforts, while maintaining clinical competence through regular shifts.
We are seeking a digitally confident midwife with excellent communication, data handling, and problem-solving skills, who can champion digital transformation and deliver safe, inclusive, and effective digital maternity care.
Person specification:
- Education/Qualifications: Registered Midwife NMC registered. Evidence of professional development.
- Skills/Abilities: Ability to cope with pressure and maintain good working relationships within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Experience/Knowledge: Must have a positive attitude and assist in implementing changes within resources available.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
