We are looking for an experienced marketer to join our team as Head of Marketing to play a key role in our ambitious growth journey, strengthening our position as one of the region’s leading accountancy firms. This is a high-impact role that will shape how the firm is perceived by clients, prospects, partners, and future colleagues. You will work closely with the wider business, setting the BHP marketing strategy and leading a high-performing marketing function.

The marketing team is based in our Chesterfield office, making this the ideal base for our Head of Marketing. However, we’re open to candidates who would be based in one of our other offices, with the expectation of semi-regular travel across the firm. Travel can be planned sensibly around work and life commitments, and while this is a visible leadership role with attendance at offices and off-site events expected, we promote a healthy and sustainable balance without excessive travel demands.

There will be lots to get involved with in this role, but examples of what you’ll be working on are:

  • Shaping and delivering a bold marketing strategy that powers our growth ambitions
  • Sharpening our brand and messaging
  • Creating and running integrated marketing and BD plans
  • Overseeing all digital marketing activity – including website performance, SEO, paid media, and analytics, in partnership with external agencies
  • Overseeing bids, tenders and pitches, ensuring every submission is compelling and commercially sharp
  • Delivering stand-out events – seminars, webinars, and networking events that strengthen our presence across the region
  • Bringing fresh ideas and innovative thinking across brand, digital and business development
  • Spotting award opportunities and partnership prospects that bolster our visibility and credibility
  • Collaborating with the Talent team on developing employer brand and attraction campaigns
  • Using systems to track and report on marketing activity, providing meaningful data to inform decisions and regularly reporting on campaign outcomes and performance

This role offers a rare level of autonomy, giving you ownership to set the marketing direction, experiment with bold new ideas, and bring ambitious campaigns to life. Your expertise won’t be constrained by rigid frameworks; you’ll be trusted to innovate, challenge convention, and make a visible impact.

You’ll also have the opportunity to influence and shape high-profile, group-wide Sumer marketing initiatives, collaborating on joint campaigns and ensuring the wider strategy is meaningfully embedded into your work. This is a chance to operate at both firm and group level, raising your profile while driving work that truly matters.

Our marketing team is 4 strong, and based out of our Chesterfield office. Friendly, supportive, caring, inclusive… These are just some of the words that our current colleagues use to describe our culture. We do our best to make sure we bring our company values to life, and through our employee surveys and engagement groups we make sure everyone has the chance to have their say and play a part in shaping our culture.

When you join us, you can expect:

  • A welcoming environment where everyone feels valued.
  • Regular team events, networking opportunities, and professional development sessions.
  • Agile, hybrid working to help you find the best work-life balance.
  • Wellness programs, mental wellbeing support, and initiatives that prioritise your well-being.

Salary range between £60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience. 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays. Pension contributions of 5.3% when you contribute 3.2%. Discretionary annual bonus. Healthcare cash plan. Life cover 3 x salary. EV Car scheme.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A marketing team leadership background with experience of creating and delivering a marketing strategy
  • A proven track record of creating and executing campaigns that deliver measurable commercial outcomes
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience developing and inspiring teams
  • Stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence at Partner and Board level
  • A creative and commercially minded approach, continually seeking ways to innovate and add value
  • B2B marketing experience
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics and measuring activity ROI

Whilst not essential, it would be great if you have:

  • Exposure to SEO/GEO/AIO
  • A background in digital and content marketing
  • Sales or business development experience

We don’t expect you to tick every box. If you’re excited about this role and believe you can make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences and will provide reasonable accommodations during the hiring process. If there’s anything you need support with, just let us know.
