We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Construction Programmer/Planner to centralise all of the company's project & labour plans. Reporting to the Operations Director and Project Teams, this is a key role in ensuring accuracy and consistency in project planning and progress tracking.
You will work across both pre-construction and live sites, producing robust programmes for tenders and updating them as projects progress.
Duties of the Programmer include:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Construction/Tender programmes, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines.
- Integrate project schedules with 3D models using 4D software for a visual representation of construction sequences.
- Conduct site visits to review works and drawings when required, monitoring and analysing project progress, while providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Produce weekly look-ahead programmes and manage critical paths.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to identify risks and mitigate delays.
- Identify scheduling conflicts and propose solutions to optimise project efficiency.
- Utilise scheduling software to create detailed Gantt charts, timelines, and reports.
- Support the bid process with detailed and realistic programmes.
- Implement and manage changes to project schedules as needed.
Requirements of the role:
- Minimum of 3 years' planning experience in construction OR a Project Manager with proven experience programming projects in your current role.
- Master programming skills, covering design, procurement, pre-commencement, construction, and commissioning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work across multiple projects.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting project deadlines, and the ability to produce accurate realistic programmes.
- Organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Knowledge of project planning processes and the project life cycle.
- Familiarity with procurement processes for a broad range of construction contracts, including design and build.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Projects or similar versions. Ability to quickly adapt to new software.
