Bhatia Best Solicitors is a well-established law firm based in the East Midlands, specialising in Criminal Defence, Family Law, Personal Injury, Public Law and Community Care.
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time, experienced and organised Legal Cashier join our busy Accounts Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounts background who is looking to develop their experience within a legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a varied range of accounts duties, including:
- Completing bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently
- Processing client and office account receipts
- Checking and processing private client and Legal Aid bills
- Setting up and processing electronic payments
- Managing purchase ledger transactions
- Managing and reconciling petty cash
- Reconciling company credit card transactions
- Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Supporting the wider Accounts Department as required
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and comfortable working in a busy professional environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of one year legal cashiering experience
- Knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
- A good understanding of VAT
- Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work accurately to deadlines
- A professional, reliable and proactive approach
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Salary and Hours
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon experience.
Hours: 3 days/22.5 hours per week 9am – 5.30pm with one hour for lunch.
