We are looking for a confident, flexible and dedicated team member, who is able to work with initiative in a high volume and demanding environment, within our busy catering team. You will be responsible for hot and cold food preparation, taking both card and cash payments, serving customers, and cleaning within all areas of the kitchen.
The successful candidate will report to the Catering manager and work alongside four other Catering Assistants and the Kitchen Porter. There will be opportunities for you to undertake individual training and development, which is encouraged through the college induction and staff development programmes.
As part of the interview, there will be a trial, a practical assessment in the Canteen, so you can see how a normal day will run at the College.
Contract details:
- Permanent
- Full time: 37 hours per week
- Term Time Only – 39 weeks per year (term time, September to July)
- Working pattern: 7am – 3pm Monday to Thursday; 7am – 2:30pm (Friday) with half an hour unpaid lunch break
- Pro-rata Salary: £21,045 per annum (based on spine point 3 of grade 1 in the Support Staff pay spine for which full time salary is £24,759 per annum). This salary will rise over 2 years subject to satisfactory performance.
- 5.2 weeks of holiday pay included in the pro-rata salary
- You will automatically become a member of the Local Government Pension scheme
