An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Therapist (0.4818 WTE) to join the team at the Perry Tree Centre Intermediate Care Unit within our North Locality P2 Bed service.

This post will work alongside the existing Band 7 therapist in a job-share arrangement. Ideally, the successful candidate will work on the days when the current Band 7 is not on site, ensuring consistent leadership and support across the service.

The Inpatient Therapy team supports Discharge to Assess pathway and the role is crucial to ensure Therapy teams receive the clinical support and leadership to facilitate discharge and maintain Length of stay .

This is an exciting time to join the Perry Tree Centre. The service currently provides up to 64 intermediate care beds across two floors and plays a key role in the ongoing reconfiguration of our locality-based care model.

The Centre has recently been at the forefront of innovation, including the introduction offalls technology within the service. There is also on-site support from the Occupational Therapy Lead, providing excellent opportunities for multidisciplinary working and professional development.

The team works collaboratively across both wards and is currently involved in a significant transformation programme with our local authority partners.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and enthusiastic about positively impacting the discharge experience for patients, families, carers and staff, whilst ensuring that people leave the inpatient setting in an appropriate and timely manner.

You will be an experienced clinician who is ready to take the next step in their career. The successful applicant will bring strong clinical leadership skills, a passion for service improvement, and the ability to support teams through change and transformation.

Therapy team at Perry Tree Centre consists of Occupational Therapist , Physiotherapist and Therapy assistants .

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will have day to day operational responsibility for your Teams (based at Perry Tree centre and you will also contribute to the overall management of the Service alongside the esxisting Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy Clinical Team lead.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current Health Professionals Council registration
  • Extensive evidence of relevant post registration training and CPD
  • Clinical Supervisors / Fieldwork education

Personal Qualities

  • Proven ability to be an active member of a multi-disciplinary team/ inpatients
  • Passionate about service improvement
  • Experience of leading on Ward level meetings / audits

Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience of working within Discharge to assess Model
  • Demonstrates a problem solving approach and MDT working
  • Evidence of clinical audits , quality improvement
  • Understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance and Health inequalities
  • Experience of working in Inpatients , community hospital
  • Clinical practice educator , CSP member
  • Ability to meet travel requirements of the role

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

Please note that the majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band 3 - 6) with the exception of those which appear on this list - link , will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

DBS Costs

Please be aware that all new employees starting work with the Trust will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary in 3 payments over a 3-month period once you start employment. By applying for this role, you are agreeing to these deductions being made. The charges for the DBS include the administration fee. The total costs are £26.40 for a standard check and £54.40 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for. For bank Workers the full cost of the DBS check (as detailed above) will be deducted from your pay following completion of your online mandatory training. No payment will be made for your online training until it is all complete and verified by the Temporary Staffing Team. Please note: You will not be able to work any bank shifts until you have completed your mandatory training, and your DBS is in place.
