The Opportunity

The US Finance team is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting for all US finance functions and reporting. This role primarily will assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met, taking full control of the intercompany relationships and cash management whilst ensuring company policies are adhered to.

Location: B&H Worldwide, London office

Line Manager: Finance Manager - US

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day normally 9am to 6pm, excluding 1-hour lunch

Key Role Accountabilities

  • Intercompany
    • Full control of intercompany reconciliations
    • Ensure that creditor & debtor balances remain at a minimum with all Countries
    • Follow up where there are queries on invoices
    • Maintain zero difference at month end with other B&H Worldwide entities
  • General Ledger
    • Process month end journals including payroll journal following the journal approval process
    • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, making appropriate adjustments as needed
    • Complete bank reconciliation, daily and monthly
    • Prepare weekly cash forecast
  • Sales Ledger
    • Customer specific reporting/invoicing
    • Reviewing debt & expected cash in
    • Review Job profit for low margin & loss-making jobs
  • Purchase Ledger
    • Process and pay staff expenses both personal and Corporate credit card charges
    • Creditor management, inc. payment terms, any debit balances are reviewed & cleared
    • Assist in maintaining the purchase ledger where needed
    • Maintain duty & tax accounts, ensuring ledger is zero balance & records kept
    • Review and propose weekly payment runs in line with expected cashflow
  • General Duties
    • Cover AP & AR roles when needed due to team member holidays
    • Answer and return calls and maintain a rapid response to agreed standards
    • Maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant law and procedures
    • Adhere to health and safety policy and other requirements relating to care of equipment
    • Liaise with Management to identify any changes in work instructions and/or processes
    • Ad hoc duties as required

Your Experience

  • Good understanding of accounting practices and terminology required
  • Good working knowledge of Finance systems and reporting tools (Cargowise desirable, not essential)
  • This role needs to be underpinned by excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • You will have excellent customer service skills with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Be comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage own workload
  • Be a good communicator with the ability to confidently and credibly engage with all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent skills in building relationships and developing partnerships across multiple stakeholders
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to consider several possible options and decide on most appropriate method
  • Proven record of being responsive and innovative
  • Ability to take on and follow instructions
