The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead and optimise warehouse inventory operations, ensuring the efficient, compliant, and accurate handling of all goods entering and leaving the business. This role plays a key part in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving operational performance.

Key Role Accountabilities
- Operational Management — Oversee all daily warehouse operations: goods-in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch. Ensure on-time, accurate order fulfilment and stock integrity. Manage warehouse space, layout, and workflow for maximum efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement & Efficiency — Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across all warehouse activities. Redesign warehouse layout, bin locations, and material flow to improve productivity. Introduce and maintain Lean / 5S / best-practice warehouse standards. Reduce errors, waste, damage, and unnecessary movement. Drive measurable improvements in KPIs such as picking speed, accuracy, and dispatch times.
- Inventory & Systems Control — Improve inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock control procedures. Use WMS/ERP systems to track performance and identify improvement areas. Serve as a SME in FirstTRAC. Implement barcode scanning, labelling, or system enhancements where required.
- Team Leadership — Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve performance targets. Introduce KPI boards and performance monitoring. Develop a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Drive employee engagement and team cohesion. Prepare shift schedules and manage manpower allocation during peak operations. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship. Manage HR challenges and support the team in resolution management (with support from the Head of Operations and HR team). Ensure team members receive the communication and instructions needed to act in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Cost & Performance Management — Reduce operational costs through smarter planning, storage, and labour management. Improve productivity while reducing overtime and inefficiencies. Use data driven solutions to model labour needs and solutions in the warehouse. Report on KPIs and improvement progress to senior management.
- Health & Safety and Compliance — Ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with H&S regulations. Reduce incidents through improved practices and staff training. Ensure team members meet all Statutory Requirements for the aviation industry, working in compliance with AEO regulations and procedures for the warehouse operations. Responsible for reporting any customer or other complaints and/or failures to line manager, raising CARs and managing through to agreed resolution, including implementing any actions plans.
- Training And Development — Work with the Head of Operations to ensure the team is designed optimally, ensuring sufficient organisational depth, span of control with succession/talent planning. Ensure that the team are fully aware of and compliant with all Company policies and procedures. Ensure that all team members continually receive training, including refresher, and that future developmental training programmes are identified and implemented as appropriate. Ensure all team members complete mandated training as required, and identify future developmental training programmes and implement as appropriate. Ensure all team members are trained and follow requirements under ISO 9001 AS9120B.

Your Experience
Proven experience in Warehouse management/supervisory leadership roles, ideally gained within logistics/air freight industry. Demonstrated experience in warehouse layout and design, including storage media selection and SKU slotting. Demonstrated history of implementing process improvements. Strong knowledge of warehouse layout optimization and stock control. Experience with WMS/ERP systems and barcode scanning. Ability to lead teams and improve performance through structure and KPIs. Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement practices. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Proven communication skills, both written and verbal. Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with the ability to work under pressure to meet defined deadlines. Have working knowledge of IT, with the ability to use MS Office (Word and Excel). Have a full 5 year checkable work/background history and a clean criminal record. Lean/Six Sigma training as well as forklift licence and Dangerous Goods awareness desirable.
