BH Live is looking for experienced chefs to join our team. You will work across a variety of BH Live food stations including a fish and chips truck and a pizza box on the Bournemouth Pavilion Terrace for the summer season. The role also involves working within the Bistro, Elevate and the main kitchen at Bournemouth International Centre and Bournemouth Pavilion. This varied busy role requires ensuring all food served follows BH Live recipe specifications and standards. This role is customer‑facing; during high season you must be available to work on the Pavilion Terrace up to 10pm. Work hours will include weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with the production of food.
- Deliver a high‑quality, cost‑effective catering operation ensuring agreed food standards are achieved.
- Take and process orders providing excellent customer service while dealing with high‑volume orders.
- Complete the daily and weekly wastage spreadsheet.
- Ensure high standards of quality control, handling and storing of commodities with due regard to current legislation governing handling, storage and processing.
- Inspect kitchen areas for potential risks of temperature control, cross‑contamination hazards, take corrective action when required, and report to the appropriate person.
- Record delivery temperature of frozen and chilled produce and refuse any produce that is not at the required temperature.
- Record temperature of food at service points and take corrective action to ensure all produce is at the correct temperature.
- Formulate and use kitchen check lists to monitor tasks.
- Ensure hospitality areas are kept clean and tidy in accordance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations and BH Live's Policy and Procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a chef in a similar role.
- Reliable, organized and able to work well under pressure.
- Passion for delivering great food and customer satisfaction.
- A valid food hygiene certificate (or willingness and ability to obtain one upon joining).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Flexibility with regards to working hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
