The role:
Our Marketing Manager (Venues) is responsible for leading a small team to plan, budget, deliver and evaluate integrated, multi‐channel marketing activity across a diverse portfolio of venues including Bournemouth Pavilion and Bournemouth International Centre in Dorset, and Fairfield Halls in Croydon. The role supports the full venue offer, including theatres, event spaces, conferences and exhibitions, hospitality services (bars, cafés and restaurants), seasonal attractions and community activity, alongside a programme of over 700 cultural events and live performances each year – including major seasonal highlights such as two high‐profile annual pantomimes and an indoor ice rink.
Focused on driving audience engagement, ticket sales, participation, secondary spend, sponsorship, and business events, the postholder will deliver insight‐led campaigns aligned to clear KPIs, including ROAS and customer satisfaction. The role also ensures strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, effective communication and the successful delivery of measurable commercial outcomes across all venues.
You will:
- Lead, motivate and develop a small marketing team, including recruitment, workload planning and prioritisation, performance management, training, team meetings and one‐to‐ones.
- Manage and monitor marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of spend and optimisation of return on investment across campaigns and channels.
- Plan and deliver integrated, trackable multi‐channel marketing campaigns that support the full venue offer, including ticketed events, conferences and exhibitions, hospitality, attractions and community activity, ensuring delivery against contractual and commercial targets.
- Work closely with commercial and operational teams to align marketing activity with sales targets, yield strategies and revenue objectives.
- Support the conferences and exhibitions team with marketing requirements, including promotion of trade events and expos, and the development of tailored collateral and materials to drive awareness, attendance and commercial outcomes.
To be successful you will need:
- Experience and/or a good knowledge of the cultural and commercial business events industry, hospitality services and working in the charitable sector.
- Experience in planning and delivering multi‐channel campaigns, working to a budget, and reporting ROI.
- A track record of managing people, workstreams, developing and delivering content plans and actions, activities, and events ensuring that these adhere to brand guidelines, tone of voice and copyright.
- Experience in maintaining customer databases.
- Up‐to‐date knowledge of ASA guidelines and legislation including copyright, data protection including GDPR, privacy, data collection and handling.
- Experience in using data and content management systems and platforms for managing across websites, customer communication platforms (email/app) and social media channels.
