In this strategic role, you will partner directly with CxOs and senior business leaders to define, align, and optimize infrastructure roadmaps that drive our change portfolio. You will ensure our enterprise ecosystem is resilient by design, commercially viable, highly automated, and future-ready to support both "run" and "grow" business agendas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Define and evolve the enterprise infrastructure vision, creating actionable target state architectures and roadmaps that align with long-term business goals.
  • Executive Advisory: Partner with senior business and technology leaders (CIO, IT Directors) to provide insights into infrastructure investments, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Technology Innovation: Identify and execute opportunities to leverage modern infrastructure paradigms, including hybrid cloud, edge computing, automation, and "cloud-first" principles.
  • Enterprise Infrastructure Design: Oversee the architecture for core enterprise services across compute, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms, and data center operations.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with Solution Architects, DevOps, and Platform Engineering teams to embed infrastructure automation, agility, security, and performance into the delivery lifecycle.
  • Cost & Service Optimization: Promote shared infrastructure platforms to eliminate duplication, optimize licensing/operating costs, and maintain technical governance.
  • Design Assurance & Governance: Lead and participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) and Design Authorities, establishing reusable patterns, standards, and blueprints.
  • Security & Resilience: Implement high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and security baselines across critical systems.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure assets to ensure ongoing operational fit, compliance, and sustainability.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Technical Capability & Experience
    • Hybrid & Cloud Architecture: Deep experience designing scalable, enterprise-grade infrastructure across on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and/or AWS).
    • Cloud & Networking Depth: Expertise in Azure ecosystem components (Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall) and enterprise networking concepts (SD-WAN, load balancing, DNS/DHCP, IPAM).
    • Automation & Orchestration: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell DSC, or ARM templates.
    • Virtualization & Containers: Hands-on knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Observability & Frameworks: Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana) and frameworks such as the Azure Well-Architected Framework and FinOps.
    • Compliance & Security: Solid foundation in network segmentation, identity management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 20000, PCI-DSS, ITIL).
  • Leadership & General Skills
    • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of influencing stakeholders at all levels, including CxO executives.
    • Pragmatic Governance: Ability to balance technical perfection with commercial realities, delivery timelines, and risk mitigation.
    • Autonomous Leader: Self-directed, highly accountable, and comfortable operating under broad strategic guidance.
  • Education & Certifications
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Cloud/Infra Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or VMware VCAP.

How to prepare for a job interview at BGTS International

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
