We are looking for an experienced Technical Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership, management, and development of the engineering team on The Crown Estates contract and for the Quadrant portfolio. Ensuring operational excellence and compliance standards are met and exceeded. The role will cover in the main both the mechanical and electrical strategies within The Crown Estates Quadrant building, with likely cover required across the rest of the contract portfolios as well. Reporting to the Area General Manager, the role will also have an indirect reporting line to The Crown Estates Senior Technical Manager accountable for the Quadrant portfolio.
To support the site team and client in the technical review of proposed works against industry best practice and site standards and the impact to business operations. Fully engage with Building Performance and Net Zero Carbon targets through the implementation of Building intelligence system and optimisation of the M&E systems within the buildings.
Technical Responsibilities- Responsible for technical leadership and ensure that all technical service commitments and KPIs as per the contract are met.
- Responsible for asset management, initial CAFM data collation and ongoing management.
- Responsible for HV/LV activities ensuring full compliance with company electrical rules.
- Collaborate with the Technical Stakeholders within TCE to agree and implement strategies to achieve Building Performance and Net Zero Carbon objectives.
- Ensure areas of team development are recognised and action plans in place.
- Provide updates to the mechanical and electrical rules based on account nuances.
- Provide technical support to local site team in and out of hours.
- Ensure company staffing structures and competencies operate within the Quadrant portfolio.
- Ensure authorised person is present always where required.
- Investigate and assist with RCAs on major Operational incidents.
- Attend operational meetings.
- Actively promote management systems and processes that have been developed for the company across all sites to ensure consistency.
- Mentor and lead operational team under the guidance of the Contract manager.
- Complete Technical site audits.
- Supporting accurate EOP/SOPs.
- Supporting the BGIS Critical Works Process, safety programs.
- Plant room standard and auditing.
- Site infrastructure training as part of the training matrix requirements.
- Support site Integrated Structure Testing (IST) during project completions.
- LOTO auditing & training.
- Technical reports to be completed as required.
- Site resilience support on Critical systems.
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the British Standards and UK law.
- Inspect assets equipment and their components to observe possible future and present issues.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities working alongside Asset Management, RCC (Remote Command Centre) and Operational teams to provide best in class service to clients.
- Customer relationship and liaison – Facilities Managers and equivalent.
- Escalation and ownership of local operational, compliance.
- Elogbooks management/monitoring.
- SLA and KPI management of the CAFM system.
- Supply chain management – Subcontractor reviews.
- People Management – recruitment, development, review, performance management etc.
- Drive the training matrix to ensure compliance and all staff are adequately trained.
- Ensure that Risk Management is being delivered across Quadrant portfolio in a consistent manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that Statutory & Code compliance of sites is adhered to by the local management team and supported by specialist when required.
- Attend regular meetings with Crown Estates site management to discuss any local issues or concerns.
- Communicate any contractual concerns with senior management to ensure resolution.
- Promote and maintain the core values of BGIS.

- Electrically or mechanically qualified to NVQ level 3.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Systems, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Closed Water Systems.
- Knowledge of Generators, ATS, STS, Load bank Testing.
- Knowledge of Controls Systems, Safety Circuits, BMS, PMS, EMS, PLC, Lighting Controls.
- Knowledge of Natural Gas Systems, Boilers, Boosters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Numerate and computer literate.
- Industry qualified to HNC level.
- NEBOSH qualified to enable collaboration with account QHSE lead.
