BGIS is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Supervisor to support technical operations across a high‑profile static site. This role provides hands‑on technical leadership, ensures compliance, and supports engineering teams in maintaining safe, reliable, and high‑performing building services.
About the Role
You will work closely with the Technical Manager to deliver high standards of engineering maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and building services infrastructure. This includes supporting HV/LV networks, mechanical plant, and critical systems. You will help develop safe systems of work, coordinate intrusive maintenance activities, and provide technical expertise across the site. This role is ideal for an experienced Lead Engineer ready to step into supervisory responsibilities within a prestigious and demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Technical Manager to ensure all engineering and compliance requirements are met.
- Assist with HV/LV operations and maintain compliance with BGIS electrical safety rules.
- Provide technical support to on‑site engineering teams.
- Support statutory and code compliance across all building services.
- Assist with intrusive maintenance planning, including risk and impact assessments.
- Liaise with internal teams and external specialists regarding maintenance and project work.
- Investigate operational incidents and support root cause analysis.
- Update safe systems of work (SSOW), electrical operating procedures (EOP), and mechanical procedures (SOP).
- Manage specialist subcontractors, including HV/LV, generators, EMS, and others.
- Oversee the Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out (LOTO) process and permit management.
- Promote energy efficiency initiatives across the site.
- Manage AP responsibilities and ensure calibration of site test equipment.
- Deputise for the Technical Manager when required.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Knowledge
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
- HNC in Engineering (preferred).
- Knowledge of inspection & testing, mechanical plant, generators, UPS, cooling systems, and control systems (BMS/EMS/PLC).
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
Experience
- Supervisory or Lead Engineer experience within a hard services/FM environment.
- HV and LV switching experience on complex building infrastructure.
- Experience managing specialist contractors.
- Broad technical experience across electrical and mechanical building services.
Personal Qualities
