BGIS is recruiting for a Junior Technician to join our engineering team supporting a high-profile critical environment in London. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has recently completed an apprenticeship or holds a Level 3 trade qualification and is looking to further develop their career within building services and critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across M&E systems
  • Support fault finding and repairs on electrical and mechanical plant
  • Monitor building systems and environmental conditions via BMS
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures
  • Support contractor management and supervise specialist subcontractors on site
  • Complete maintenance documentation and update CAFM systems accurately
  • Ensure compliance with Permit to Work, LOTO and Health & Safety procedures
  • Maintain plant rooms and engineering areas to a high standard
  • Support continuous improvement and personal development towards becoming a fully experienced technician

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within building services or completion of a structured apprenticeship
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Able to work within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • Flexible approach to work and team support

Desirable

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Legionella / L8 Awareness
  • Experience using CAFM systems such as Maximo
