The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

To ensure all environmental conditions are maintained at all times concerning critical building systems. To carry out PPM tasks, reactive, and breakdown works on all M&E systems within the site. Engineers must demonstrate relevant knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators, LV systems, including fault-finding using graphical information and current alarm data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine PPM on all mechanical & electrical plant as per site schedules and asset lists.
  • Complete reactive tasks promptly and proactively identify areas for improvement, including stores and fabric-related issues.
  • Manage sub-contractors to meet contract requirements, including work approvals and safe operations during repairs or services.
  • Operate a Permit to Work System following BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
  • Quickly address plant faults and defects to keep systems operational.
  • Maintain adequate spares for maintenance and reactive works; provide parts lists and time estimates for remedial actions.
  • Complete all paperwork for reactive and breakdown works promptly and pass to the contract administrator.
  • Prepare and utilize Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safety.
  • Build good working relationships with BGIS staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Provide a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing PPE and uniforms.
  • Present a professional image of BGIS to clients.
  • Keep plant rooms under responsibility locked, clean, and tidy.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractor work on-site.
  • Complete assigned tasks appropriately and safely.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA’s.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in the Computer Based Maintenance system (e.g., Maximo), closing tickets accurately.
  • Operate Permit to Work system in line with BGIS and client procedures.
  • Perform any other tasks as directed by site management.
  • Encourage the engineering team to produce near-miss reports, risk assessments, and site activity records, escalating non-compliance.
  • Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system according to safety procedures.
  • Monitor building environmental conditions via the BMS system to maintain acceptable internal conditions.
