Purpose of Job
To act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in relation to the delivery of Building Management System operational strategies and reliability programmes. Support the integration of the smart building systems through technical guidance on the sensory and control strategies across a portfolio of buildings. The role has a strong focus on Net Zero Carbon (NZC) commitment and Energy Usage Intensity (EUI), the building performance engineer shall act as the tactical lead on implementing the process and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the tactical delivery of BMS optimisation recommendations and enabling the BMS systems to achieve minimum standards to enrich BGIS remote connectivity initiatives.
- Act as the Subject Matter Experts (SME) for the operational strategy of the BMS and HVAC systems to ensure the performance of the assets are maintained as per the design.
- Support the integrating BGIS smart systems AMI and Remote Command Centre (RCC).
- Responsible for enacting BMS and performance-based interventions identified through assessment to reduce energy wastage and optimise energy consumption.
- Perform Deep Dive Audits on the existing HVAC and Electrical Systems and identify opportunities/design gaps for optimisation through precise and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor thermal comfort across the building and ensure the landlord equipment's are providing the appropriate heating, cooling, and primary air as per building specifications.
- Investigate and provide close out plan to minimise the design gaps.
- Act as the gate keeper for maintaining buildings design operations (DESOPS) and provide appropriate change control process, identify, and remediate any deviations from the building's DESOPS.
- Responsible for the tactical delivery of amending the BMS time schedules for Void Spaces identified.
- Support the standardisation of BMS Asset Hierarchy (Haystack) and provide standardisation plan to achieve consistency across the estate.
- Monitor BMS user and their access level through implementing robust change control process and identify any anomalies, e.g., dormant users, misuse.
- Support and provide technical guidance the ongoing development of data integration programme across the estate.
- Support the Data Led Migration of the infrastructure and act as the super-user of the BGIS AMI Platform.
- Support in building optimisation rules for portfolio specific requirements.
- Triage AMI interventions and provide engineering feedback for Machine Learning optimisation.
- Support AMI data quality framework.
- Customer engagement and/or innovation in action to internal and external customers on sustainability related matters.
- Actively monitor, evidence and provide commentary on utilities wastage within monthly reports.
- Any other responsibilities required by the Line Manager.
