Purpose of the Job
Providing strategic leadership, management, and development of a defined contract, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded. The role requires close liaison with clients, internal senior managers, and lead contract support. The operation should be proactive and driven to achieve total customer satisfaction while ensuring operational and fiscal plans are at least achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to meet and exceed contractual commitments.
- Identify and exploit opportunities for strategic development of the contract to increase turnover and profitability, add additional services and projects, and re-win contracts upon re-tendering.
- Communicate and implement business policies and processes effectively within the contract.
- Ensure healthy and safe working conditions, and the effective implementation of health and safety policies and processes across BGIS, subcontractors, and client activities, with regular reviews.
- Operate staffing structures that balance cost reduction with service excellence, supporting workload fluctuations and disaster recovery.
- Ensure contracts are staffed with competent teams, with effective succession planning in place.
- Collaborate with other operational managers to develop the business, foster teamwork, and support colleagues.
- Develop financial plans for revenue and profit, accurately forecast revenue and margins, reduce WIP and debt, cut costs, and promote contract growth, ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
- Implement control systems to meet statutory, policy, and contractual commitments.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach in all operational activities and build strong relationships with key client contacts.
- Promote and uphold BGIS company values consistently.
- Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to deliver best practices in staff selection, training, assessment, and recognition.
- Communicate effectively through management meetings, briefings, forums, reports, and publications.
- Support the sales process through solution development, participation in presentations, hosting visits, and assisting with new contract mobilizations.
- Create a learning environment with appropriate training and development plans, ensuring staff are competent and can reach their potential.
Accountabilities
- Report to the Director/Divisional Director.
- Be accountable to relevant client contacts for daily operations.
- Manage a small team of Contract Managers and Supervisors across multiple contracts.
- Hold financial responsibility for delivering the contract portfolio's plan commitments.
