Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead all engineering and compliance activities on a single, high‐profile static commercial site in the City of London. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of hard services, providing technical leadership to the on‐site engineering team, and acting as the key point of contact for all technical matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on‐site technical leadership across electrical and mechanical services.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
- Act as the site lead for HV/LV operations, ensuring works are carried out in line with company procedures and legislation.
- Support and manage Authorised Persons and engineering staff on site.
- Maintain and update Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and RAMS.
- Provide technical support to the site management team and client as required.
- Monitor asset performance, compliance records, and risk management activities.
- Investigate incidents and contribute to Root Cause Analysis where required.
- Ensure training, competency, and permit standards are maintained on site.
- Promote a strong safety culture and consistent ways of working.
Reporting Line
Reports to the Technical Director / Engineering Lead. Works closely with the Site Manager and client stakeholders.
Required Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering within commercial buildings.
- Previous experience in a Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, or Senior Authorised Person role.
- Working knowledge of HV/LV systems and compliance requirements.
- Sound understanding of statutory compliance, H&S legislation, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead, support, and develop on‐site engineering teams.
Desirable:
- HV or LV Authorised Person status.
- Experience working on high‐end corporate or critical environments in the City of London.
- Facilities Management or hard services background.
