We are looking for an experienced Critical Services Engineer to join our team supporting the prestigious King’s Cross Estate. This highly visible technical leadership role is responsible for engineering governance, operational assurance, technical escalation support, quality assurance, and ownership of engineering standards across a complex critical environment. The role requires subject matter expertise across critical infrastructure, driving reliability, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement across the estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership & Technical Authority
    • Act as estate-wide Subject Matter Expert (SME) for critical engineering systems
    • Provide technical leadership across: HV/LV systems, Generators, UPS, Cooling infrastructure, BMS, Fire systems, Water systems
    • Lead root cause analysis and technical investigations
  • Technical Triage & Incident Management
    • Manage technical triage for critical incidents and system failures
    • Support emergency response and fault diagnosis
    • Produce technical reports and recommendations
  • Engineering Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Carry out engineering audits and quality inspections
    • Review MOPs, SOPs, RAMS, switching schedules and maintenance procedures
    • Ensure compliance with statutory and client engineering standards
  • Engineering Standards & Governance
    • Develop and maintain engineering procedures, policies and standards
    • Drive consistency and engineering best practice
    • Maintain document control and governance frameworks
  • Training & Development
    • Support and develop engineering competency frameworks
    • Deliver technical mentoring and workshops
    • Support Authorised Person development and competency assessments
  • Reliability & Continuous Improvement
    • Analyse asset performance and maintenance trends
    • Drive reliability and lifecycle improvement initiatives
  • Projects & Technical Support
    • Provide technical oversight across engineering projects
    • Review designs, commissioning activities and project handovers
  • Health & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with legislation and engineering standards
    • Support risk assessments and incident investigations

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or HND in Engineering / Building Services (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong experience within critical environments
  • Background in engineering governance and technical leadership
  • Experience developing engineering standards and procedures
  • QA/QS auditing experience
  • Strong stakeholder management capability
