We are looking for a commercially astute, ambitious Marketing Director to take full ownership of the Gaming Giveaways brand, one of BGFG’s flagship businesses. This is not a role that takes direction from above; the successful candidate will lead the brand forward, set the marketing strategy and own its commercial outcomes. You will be expected to operate at board level presenting performance, plans and commercial recommendations directly to the board at quarterly meetings and to run the marketing function with genuine autonomy.
The role spans paid performance (the core engine of the business), brand management, influencer and traditional paid media including TV, radio, out of home and taxi advertising. This is a senior leadership position for someone ready to own a brand, not assist with one.
Key Responsibilities- Brand Ownership & Leadership
- Own the brand: Take full ownership of Gaming Giveaways as a brand its positioning, voice, customer experience and commercial trajectory.
- Set the direction: Define and lead the marketing strategy. You set the plan, you defend it, you deliver it.
- Board reporting: Present performance, forecasts, strategy and commercial recommendations to the board at quarterly meetings. Be the voice of the brand at leadership level.
- Brand expansion: Continue to expand the brand into new prize categories and adjacent verticals.
- Commercial Growth
- Topline & profitability: Deliver significant topline growth across the raffle business while simultaneously improving net margin and EBITDA against agreed targets.
- Budget ownership: Own the marketing P&L plan, forecast and manage budgets with a clear understanding of unit economics, CAC, LTV, payback periods and ROI.
- Commercial decision-making: Make tradeoff decisions grounded in business commercials, not vanity metrics. Marketing investment must defensibly contribute to the bottom line.
- Paid Performance (Core Engine)
- Performance marketing leadership: Lead paid performance as the primary growth engine of the business across paid social, paid search, programmatic, display and any other performance channels appropriate to the business.
- Channel efficiency: Drive measurable improvements in performance and efficiency across existing channels through rigorous testing, creative iteration and data-led optimisation.
- Channel expansion: Identify, build and scale new performance channels to diversify acquisition and unlock incremental growth.
- Brand, Influencer & Traditional Media
- Influencer & creator marketing: Manage influencer and creator partnerships at scale from strategy through to selection, negotiation, execution and measurement.
- Traditional paid media: Plan and run integrated traditional media campaigns including TV, radio, out of home (billboards), taxi advertising and other offline formats. Ensure they work commercially alongside digital, not in isolation.
- Brand building: Build awareness, trust and emotional connection with the audience through consistent, distinctive brand work across every channel and customer touchpoint.
- Retention, Conversion & Lifecycle
- Retention rates: Grow customer retention rates across the player base, increasing repeat purchase frequency and reducing churn.
- Conversion optimisation: Improve conversion rates across the funnel — from first visit through to repeat play via CRO, personalisation and data driven testing.
- Reactivation: Build and execute reactivation programmes that bring lapsed customers back into active play.
- Team management
- Lead, manage and develop the marketing team setting clear objectives, providing structured training and building bench strength.
- Recruitment: Identify gaps and recruit the right people to scale the function in line with business growth.
- Stakeholder management: Partner effectively with product, commercial, finance and operations leadership.
- Proven senior marketing leadership experience with deep, hands-on expertise in paid performance marketing as the primary growth lever.
- Strong track record in brand management and influencer marketing, with the strategic judgement to know when and where each lever applies.
- Direct experience planning and running traditional paid media campaigns TV, radio, out of home, taxis and similar offline formats and integrating them with digital activity.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering measurable topline growth and improved profitability through marketing.
- Experience in the gambling or iGaming industry is a significant advantage.
- Alternatively, experience in non-traditional e-commerce specifically subscription based models or high repeat purchase consumer businesses where retention, frequency and LTV are central commercial drivers.
- Strong understanding of business financials P&L, margin, EBITDA and unit economics.
- Proven ability to manage substantial marketing budgets and make tradeoff decisions grounded in commercial reality.
- Confident and credible presenting performance, forecasts and commercial recommendations to a board.
- Highly motivated, independently energised self-starter who sets direction without waiting to be told.
- Genuine ownership mentality treats the brand as theirs to lead, not a brief to execute.
- Demonstrable managerial and training experience capable of building, coaching and retaining a strong team.
- Able to operate autonomously and drive outcomes without close supervision.
- Resilient. Able to take constructive criticism on the work without taking it personally, and equally able to give clear, direct feedback to others.
- Pragmatic, hands-on and outcome focused, with a bias for action.
- Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will have:
- Delivered significant topline growth in the raffle business with measurably improved net margin and EBITDA.
- Materially improved paid performance efficiency and opened at least one new performing channel at scale.
- Run integrated brand, influencer and traditional media campaigns that demonstrably contributed to commercial outcomes.
- Lifted retention, conversion and reactivation metrics against clear baselines.
- Strengthened the Gaming Giveaways brand and supported successful entry into new prize categories.
- Built a high-performing, well-trained marketing team set up to scale further.
- Established themselves as a credible, board-trusted leader of the brand.
