This role will be within BGEN - one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within our Finance Team, supporting the delivery of essential engineering and infrastructure services across a range of markets. Working closely with operational and commercial colleagues, you’ll help ensure the business continues to perform safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Based in Warrington or Rochdale around two days per week, you’ll provide financial leadership and support across your areas, building strong relationships and acting as a trusted partner to SBU leadership teams. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you’ll support performance delivery, strengthen financial governance and help drive margin discipline and cash generation. From leading forecasts and budgets to providing clear commercial insight and identifying efficiencies, this role offers real variety and impact. You’ll also play a part in driving continuous improvement across Finance and the wider business, in a friendly, respectful and client‑focused environment where you’ll be encouraged to grow and thrive.
What will you bring?
- Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) (We can consider candidates working toward full qualification with salary/grade adjusted accordingly.)
- Ability to build strong relationships with operational and commercial stakeholders.
- Proven experience driving cost savings and efficiencies.
- Ability to translate complex financial information for non‑finance colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Highly proficient in Excel and strong numerical skills.
- Self‑driven with a positive, proactive approach.
Desirable
- Experience using Oracle ERP systems.
- Sector experience within utilities, infrastructure or engineering contracting.
