Where will you be working? At M Group Water we help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

What will you be doing? You will work on a range of mechanical installations, including plastic and ductile pipework and rotating machinery. You will install new package plant, remove old equipment, and carry out site investigations to assess faults or plan new installations, sharing updates as needed. You will sometimes work at height or in confined spaces to complete tasks safely. You will help create risk assessments and method statements, contributing to safe, well‑planned work. You will also guide and mentor apprentices or junior engineers, supporting their development and ensuring high standards and safety on site.

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience of mechanical installations, including but not limited to pipework and rotation machinery.
  • Previous water industry experience is desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical general arrangement and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Able to support and coach junior members of a team.
  • Recognised City and Guilds Mechanical Trade, or equivalent period of prolonged service in a similar role.
  • Medium risk confined space training (C&G 6160-09) - Training will be provided if not a current holder.
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) if applicable - Training will be provided if not a current holder.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
