Where will you be working? At M Group Water we help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will join BGEN – one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage industries to deliver next generation, value‑added engineering solutions.

What will you be doing? You will ensure all client enquiries are logged in the CRM and keep clients updated as their requests move through the central estimating team in line with agreed SLAs. You will act as bid lead when required, working with suppliers and engineers to gather tender information and progress submissions for internal DLA approval. You will also collaborate with Infrastructure Bid Managers to support larger MEICA bids and Frameworks with the right ICAT scope packages. You will carry out site surveys—or coordinate with the engineering team to complete them—and produce detailed scope reports for internal and external approval. You will work closely with internal design teams and clients to make sure designs progress smoothly and meet all relevant specifications. You will line manage and coach a team of ICAT Engineers, helping them grow the skills and experience needed to deliver their frameworks and portfolios of work. You will maintain positive client communication to support a healthy pipeline and escalate significant resource changes to the Contracts Manager and Regional Director.

What you’ll bring: Must have a good understanding of electrical installations and control systems including, but not limited to, control panels / MCCs, PLC, SCADA and instrumentation. Knowledge of electrical safety & CDM Regulations. Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering, mainly pipework (plastic). Must be able to work under own initiative and be able to drive site work forward to completion within set timescales. Must have good organisational skills and the ability to multi‑task, prioritise activities and work under time pressures. Willingness to spend time on site to engage with engineers and clients. SSSTS/SMSTS and CDM principal contractor qualifications and/or experience preferred. ONC/HNC/Degree in an engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Previous water industry and/or ICAT experience. Full UK driving licence required.
