BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.
This role is responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive estimates through the review and analysis of tender enquiries, technical requirements, and contractual obligations. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates
- Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Completing comprehensive take-offs
- Liaising with internal departments to gather essential tender information
- Attending site visits, client tender review meetings, and project kick-off meetings to support successful project delivery
- Providing guidance and oversight to Estimating Engineers, ensuring tender submissions are complete, compliant, and delivered on time while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and commercial awareness
You will bring:
- Good knowledge of current relevant Estimating and Commercial practice
- Good knowledge of engineering practices
- Good knowledge of project management practices
- Good knowledge of HSE systems and compliance
- Good knowledge of QA systems and compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with clients
- High level of computer literacy
- Considerable experience in estimating packages of work to the standards required within the Power & Energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear, utilities and food & drink type of industries
