Our London office is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to form a key part of a growing geotechnical team. You will work with the Geotechnics Lead to support and grow the team, working closely with other team members as well as independent geotechnical consultancy. The nature and type of work will be varied, ranging from the design of foundations and earth structures for temporary works through to the integrated design of deep basements and foundation solutions for tall buildings. Whilst the majority of our work is UK-based, we are an international practice and often work in other geographies. Knowledge and experience of geotechnical work in a more global context would be welcome.
About the Role:
- Experience in geotechnical engineering or relevant fields;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills internally and with our clients;
- ICE membership advantage;
- Independently draft reports, specifications, and testing regimes, and prepare site investigations;
- Sound technical background and analytical skills relating to:
- Foundation solutions (e.g., deep foundations, rafts, piled rafts, etc.);
- Soil-structure interaction;
- Deep excavations;
- Retaining wall design and construction;
- Earthworks.
- MS Office;
- Slope/W or equivalents;
- Oasys XDisp;
- Plaxis 2D/3D;
- WallAP or equivalent;
- Settle 3D.
About You:
- Degree Qualified;
- Relevant experience, ideally within an engineering consultancy or the construction industry;
- Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for projects;
- Task delivery to agreed deadline and fee;
- Contribute to the development of company procedures by taking an active role in the task;
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and other professionals involved in the projects.
