The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will report to the Co-Head of Core HR UK & Middle East and will act as a trusted advisor supporting approximately 500 employees. The role is responsible for providing a strong HR service and support to both Shared Services business clients as well as supporting the HR agenda. Responsibility for the implementation of our policies, processes and procedures, this role is responsible for managing complex and sensitive day-to-day people management and employee relations issues. Drive improved service delivery and support the Co-Head with projects. The role requires an excellent knowledge of all core and operational HR related topics impacting the employee life cycle including Employee Relations and Immigration.

Areas of Accountability

  • Delivery of the HR cycle
  • Work proactively with the delegated client group on high volume and complex employee relations issues, including immigration, employee exits, redundancy programmes
  • Review and develop HR policies and procedures assisting the Co-Head of Core HR UK & Middle East as legislation changes and implement these across the business working with key stakeholders
  • Provides analytical support from Oracle reports
  • Support, influence, develop and coach people managers to manage employment issues
  • Advise on absence management and occupational health issues, seeking specialist advice as appropriate
  • Work closely with HR Specialists to help resolve queries which arise directly from the business
  • Oversee all Oracle related activities for your clients
  • Management of ER matters whilst keeping senior colleagues appraised
  • Advise line managers on probation, absence management, performance and management issues
  • Advise your client groups on the impact of employee contract amendments and ensure all amendments are approved in accordance with delegated authority
  • Coach, guide and mentor line managers and senior leaders in their HR leadership functions and responsibilities.
  • Build, develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to understand current HR priorities and associated risks
  • Support Line Managers with the annual compensation process guidelines; guide managers on how to distribute salary and bonus across their business areas

Skills / Experience

  • Experience as a HRBP with leadership capability
  • Experience of conducting complex investigations and managing significant employee relations challenges
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law
  • Solid understanding of UK Immigration Law
  • Highly commercial
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with leaders at all levels
  • High levels of trust, humility and integrity
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal, including a high level of attention to detail
  • Professional/Technical Skills
  • Excellent technology skills, specifically Oracle, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of UK Employment and Immigration Law
  • Be alert to Conduct Risk, specifically the risk of harm to client interests, market integrity and/or competition in financial markets due to inappropriate practices or behaviours across the firm
  • CIPD qualified
  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to influence others and handle conflict
  • Proven experience and exposure in handling sensitive employee relations and dismissal situations
  • Ability to work independently and on own initiative, is a good team player
  • Has an eye for detail and whilst aligning with policy is able to use judgment
  • Strong analytical skills
