Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and staff.
- Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Help manage food costs by minimising waste and optimising ingredient usage.
What You Need
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar role.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in food preparation.
- A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.
