As the Manager of our fast-paced Goods-In operation you will be responsible for leading a team of associates through their daily workloads of unloading both loose and palletized containers, overseeing the accurate booking in of all deliveries into the WMS. Reporting into the Inventory Control Manager, you will control the release of stock once it has passed technical inspection and has met operational requirements. Additionally, you will work with the supply chain to plan inbound deliveries, identify issues, implement corrective actions, and lead continuous improvement projects.
We operate a multifunctional warehouse, and our associates are deployed to support different areas around the warehouse. This means our managers need to be multiskilled as well as flexible with a forward way of thinking.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day Goods-In operation, ensuring all inbound deliveries are unloaded, checked, and booked in accurately.
- Manage and support warehouse associates, allocate workloads, and monitor performance against operational targets.
- Ensure all stock is received into the WMS accurately and released only once technical inspection and operational requirements are complete.
- Liaise closely with Supply Chain and other warehouse functions to plan inbound activity and prioritise urgent deliveries.
- Investigate delivery discrepancies, damaged stock, and process issues, implementing corrective action as required.
- Monitor KPIs and provide regular updates on inbound performance, stock issues, and operational challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Support wider warehouse operations as required, demonstrating flexibility across a multifunctional environment.
- Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory or management role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- Sound understanding of warehouse operations, stock control, and goods receiving procedures.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills working with large data sets (Filters, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc).
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams to achieve operational targets.
- Ability to assess operational issues and implement effective corrective actions.
