Group Fitness Coach - East Croydon We are looking for Personal Trainers and Group Fitness Coaches who want to be part of building something, not just tick sessions off a timetable. The Studio: BFT East Croydon runs progressive, science backed group training across 13 programmes on rolling 8-10 week blocks, with heart rate tracking in every 50 minute session. Strength, power, cardio and hybrid. Nothing random, nothing thrown together on the day. Our members are not fitness models. They are people with jobs, commutes, kids and a genuine want to be fitter than they were last year. Our job is to get them results and make them want to come back tomorrow. That happens in the room, with the coaches, every single session. The Role: This is a coaching role first. You will lead sessions across our full programme range, look after the people in front of you, and hold the standard that makes members stay. You are not being asked to write programming or run the business. You are being asked to deliver the best 50 minutes of somebody’s day, consistently, and to know the people you are delivering it to. There are regular sessions available every week and we agree them with you in advance, around what works for your schedule. Early mornings and evenings are where the bulk of our timetable sits. What You’ll Be Doing: Coach 50 minute BFT sessions across our full programme range, delivering the session as written and bringing it to life on the floor. Set the room before members arrive and reset it after. Zones ready, screens on, music right, nothing left to chance. Know names. Every session, every member, from their first visit onwards. Take trialists and new members through their first session properly. What the programme is, how the zones work, what good looks like for them today. Explain BFT3 heart rate results in plain English so members understand what their score means and what to do differently next session. Coach technique in real time. Scale movements up and down without slowing the room and keep everyone safe under load. Log attendance and member notes accurately. Notice the member who has gone quiet and say something. Retention happens on the floor, not in a spreadsheet. Support studio events, challenges and open days. Take on extra cover sessions when they come up, if they suit you. What We Stand For: If these do not sound like you, this will not be a good fit for either of us. Every Member By Name > Group training only works when it does not feel like a crowd. We learn who people are, what they are training for and what is going on in their week. Different, Better, For Everyone > A first timer and a former county athlete can train in the same session and both leave having worked properly. That is the coaching skill we care most about. Everyday Wins Count > A member who has turned up three times a week for a month deserves the same recognition as the one hitting a PB. We celebrate both, loudly. We Are Never Finished > Feedback here goes in every direction. We review, we adjust, we get better. Coaches who take that well go a long way with us. What You Bring: Essential – Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, or Level 2 Gym Instructor with Level 3 in progress. Current first aid certificate. Valid public liability insurance, or the willingness to arrange it before your first session. Experience coaching groups, or a clear and convincing reason why you will be good at it quickly. Reliability that does not need managing. On time, prepared, phone away, ready before the first member walks in. The ability to explain heart rate training simply, without jargon and without patronising anyone. Right to work in the UK. What Will Set You Apart - A strength and conditioning background, or a genuine understanding of why a programme is structured the way it is. Experience in another group training environment or a busy commercial floor. Knowledge of different training methodologies and why they all matter in their own right. Confidence in front of a camera for studio content. We are not asking you to be an influencer, but we do want coaches our members see and recognise. What You Get: Regular sessions that work for you > Consistent sessions each week, agreed with you in advance and built around your availability. No scraps, no last minute scrambling. Paid properly > £20 per class for fully qualified coaches, paid monthly. Free training > Full use of the studio and all programmes, on us. Real development > BFT programme education, ongoing coach development and regular one to ones where we look at your member feedback and work on it together. Somewhere to go > We are growing across London. Coaches who hold the standard and lead well are the people we promote from. A team worth being part of > Small, tight, no politics, and we actually like each other. If this sounds like something that you would love to be a part of, please apply now!
