Fixed Term Contract: 6 months maternity cover, December 2025 until June 2026
We are looking for a Head of Business & Operations to join the BFI’s Festivals Team on a fixed term basis for 6 months. The Head of Business & Operations will lead the Festivals’ team to work efficiently, deliver best practice against financial targets and grow revenue. They will oversee the successful operational delivery of BFI Festivals, provide line management responsibility to key Festival team members and devise recruitment strategies for temporary teams in collaboration with the BFI’s People Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- To lead and manage all aspects of Festivals Finance
- Working with all budget holders to ensure they are able to deliver activity and flexing the budget where needed to realise ambition.
- To put together the festivals’ quarterly forecasts in collaboration with the finance team.
- Support the Finance and Operations Administrator on the wrap-up of Festivals Finance in-line with the end of financial year.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Substantial experience working in film exhibition, festivals or related fields in a senior business and operations role.
- Knowledge of the international film industry and the UK distribution scene.
- Effective team leader with a proven track record of effective, collaborative working across a range of teams, coupled with proven success in team recruitment.
- Substantial experience in successful budget and process management, coupled with a high level of administrative and organisational skills.
