At BFBS we keep forces communities around the world connected with home through our broadcasting and entertainment - we’re looking for a Transmission Operator to join our TV & Cinema operations. You’ll work in our busy Playout area looking after all the media associated with our broadcast, streaming and cinema outputs.
There will be some editing and file-based management alongside live operations of playout channels including the reactive and changing situation of live sport, general technical quality control and coping with unforeseen faults and problems, all calmly whilst possibly feeling some pressure!
You may have experience of broadcast environment, working with typical MAM and Playout systems, maybe not, but you have a feel for the type of organisational and process-orientated skills required for the role, along with an accurate attention to detail.
Once in the role, you’ll check that material for daily Playout schedules is complete and in the correct state for transmission, providing first line fault correction and escalating problems as required. You’ll work closely with On-Air and Programme Planning teams and be completely comfortable in communicating with colleagues at all levels in providing a first-class level of service.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours on shift positions, working over a 7-day fortnight pattern, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, so you must be prepared for unsociable hours. The role is based at our HQ in Chalfont Grove, Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.
If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact us at opportunities@bfbs.com. All applicants must be able to demonstrate current eligibility to work in the UK.
