Turn numbers into insight — join BFBS as our new FP&A Analyst
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys turning financial data into insight, building strong relationships with non-finance colleagues, and helping a business make better, faster decisions.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, supporting business partnering across both our commercial and charitable activities. The role will involve budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, performance reporting and KPI tracking — as well as contributing to the implementation of a new FP&A planning software solution.
This is a new role, so there’s real scope to shape how we work: improving reporting, strengthening planning processes, and helping us make better use of data across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
- Providing variance analysis and insight to support decision-making
- Taking ownership of P&L reporting for specific business areas
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
- Tracking financial performance against budgets, forecasts and KPIs
- Supporting the implementation of FP&A planning software
- Identifying opportunities to improve, streamline and automate finance processes
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone with a finance background, strong analytical skills and the confidence to work with both numbers and people.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience of P&L and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivots, lookups and modelling
- The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
- Curiosity around systems, automation and continuous improvement
Relevant professional qualifications are welcome, but not essential.
