We are looking for an outgoing, intelligent, methodical and enthusiastic person to work as an Account Manager in our WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) & Batteries team in a dynamic, evolving company, who are driven to make a real impact on humanity and the planet.

The role involves being the face of the WEEE & Batteries compliance team, delivering a high level of customer service to existing customers and ensuring a positive retention record. You will understand the needs and requirements of compliance customers to ensure compliance legislative obligations are met.

The responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the named account manager for allocated WEEE & Batteries compliance members, delivering excellent customer service and acting as their primary point of contact using a “phone first” mentality.
  • Providing technical and regulatory support to allocated members, interpreting complex legislation in the context of customer business activities (full training on the regulations will be given) including data submissions, product scoping, recycling fee estimates and compliance guidance.
  • Verification of customer data submissions to the regulator, collaborating with the wider WEEE & Batteries team to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Conducting customer meetings and audits (On-site, via desktop, or by telephone), providing assistance with recommendations from regulator audits.
  • Building strong relationships with members to support retention, identify cross-selling opportunities and contribute to company growth targets.
  • Providing administrative support including updating of customer details, data resubmissions, customer base communications and other quality checks.
  • Proactively contributing to improving the WEEE & Batteries service delivery including customer experience, internal processes, efficiencies and developing new customer resources.

You will be comfortable and confident in building strong relationships with customers, communicating clearly and professionally over the phone, via email and through in-person and virtual meetings. You will enjoy being a trusted point of contact, supporting members with their compliance obligations and providing clear, practical guidance.

You will have an appetite for learning, being able to absorb new information quickly and effectively, interpret guidance and apply this to a variety of business contexts. The successful candidate will be highly organised, with a strong ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced and varied role. You will be proficient with Microsoft Office, with a particular focus on Excel, and have a logical and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.

You will bring a strong work ethic, excellent administrative skills and a proactive mindset, taking ownership of your accounts and seeing tasks through to completion in line with internal and external deadlines.

You will have a flexible, ‘muck in’ approach to teamwork, being comfortable adapting to change and shifting priorities. You’ll be committed to growing with the business, contribute ideas for continuous improvement and play an active role in achieving wider company objectives.

A UK driving licence is required to carry out on-site customer visits and audits. We require all members of staff to work from the office every day for their first 3 months, and 3 days a week following this, therefore living within commuting distance to Skipton should be considered when applying.

If you have previous experience working in a customer facing role then even better. A wicked sense of humour is a bonus too!
