About Beyond Your Brand
Beyond Your Brand is a growing digital agency based in Witney, Oxfordshire. We help owner-managed businesses and SMEs grow through high-quality websites, SEO, Google Ads and paid social media. We are a friendly, hardworking team with a strong focus on relationships, service and long-term client value. We do not believe in pushy sales tactics. Our best clients work with us because they trust us, understand the value we bring and feel well looked after from the first conversation onwards.
The role
We are looking for a relationship-led Business Development Manager to help us convert inbound enquiries, nurture existing opportunities, reactivate older leads, build local relationships and support the growth of our recurring revenue. This is a hands-on role. You will be speaking with prospects, following up enquiries, managing the CRM, attending networking events, creating proposals from our existing packages and working closely with our internal team to move opportunities through the pipeline. In addition to reactive business development, this role will require you to be hungry to generate your own new business opportunities through proactive outreach, whether that be outbound calls, direct emails or LinkedIn relationship building. You will also work closely with our paid media team to help shape our campaigns within agreed business sectors. You will provide timely and regular feedback to help us refine our marketing. The role would suit someone who is commercially confident, organised and proactive, but not overly pushy. You will need to be comfortable picking up the phone, building rapport with owner-managed businesses and representing the business in a friendly, credible and professional way. You must be prepared to be proactive with strategic outreach. There is clear scope for this person to grow with the business. For the right candidate, this role could develop over time into a senior commercial leadership position.
Key responsibilities
- Lead follow-up and sales nurturing
- Follow up inbound enquiries quickly and professionally
- Re-engage older leads, lost opportunities and prospects who have gone quiet
- Nurture warm and colder prospects over time
- Book and attend discovery calls with prospective clients
- Keep regular, polite communication going without pressuring prospects
- Identify when to involve senior team members or department specialists
- Build relationships with local owner-managed businesses and SMEs
- Attend local networking events, typically around once per week
- Develop referral and partnership opportunities
- Use LinkedIn, email, phone and other channels to generate conversations
- Build and maintain prospect lists
- Support wider marketing and lead-generation campaigns
Sales and proposals
- Handle straightforward website enquiries independently once trained
- Support larger website, SEO and PPC opportunities with input from senior colleagues
- Prepare proposals and quotes using existing packages and templates
- Clearly explain our services, packages and approach to prospects
- Help prospects understand the right solution for their needs
- Support upsell opportunities with existing clients where appropriate
CRM and pipeline management
- Maintain accurate records in our CRM system
- Keep opportunities, notes, next steps and follow-up dates up to date
- Help improve nurture sequences, reminders and follow-up processes
- Provide short weekly updates and a monthly pipeline report
- Help turn the current sales approach into a more documented, repeatable process
What we are looking for
The right person is likely to have experience in B2B sales, business development, account management or a similar commercial role. Agency experience would be ideal, particularly in digital, web, SEO, PPC or marketing services. However, we would also consider someone from a broader B2B services or technology background if they are digitally savvy, commercially credible and a strong relationship builder.
You should be:
- Friendly, confident and good with people
- Comfortable speaking to business owners and senior decision-makers
- Proactive without being pushy
- Organised and consistent with follow-up
- Comfortable using a CRM
- Happy picking up the phone rather than hiding behind email
- Able to work well in a small, busy, growing business
- A strong team player with a good sense of humour
- Willing to learn our services and approach properly
- Comfortable attending local networking events
- Able to work from our Witney office on a full-time basis
Experience and skills
- Previous experience in B2B sales, business development or account management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence speaking with prospects by phone, video call and in person
- Good organisation and follow-up discipline
- Ability to manage a pipeline and use a CRM
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport for local networking/events
- A consultative approach to selling
- Experience in a digital agency, marketing agency or web/SEO/PPC environment
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses or SMEs
- Familiarity with Zoho Bigin or similar CRM systems
- Experience with LinkedIn outreach, networking and referral partnerships
Package
- Quarterly performance bonus
- Full-time, office-based role in Witney
- Mileage allowance for approved business travel
- Supportive onboarding and regular sales support from the business owners
- Opportunity to grow into a more senior commercial role over time
- Company pension
- Great holiday allowance (24 days + bank holidays) and birthdays off
- Tea, coffee, and soft drinks day-to-day. Something a little stronger on those special occasions when there’s something to celebrate!
- A stocked sweet bar and fruit for whenever energy levels take a hit!
- Monthly team lunch
- The chance to be part of a passionate, hard-working, expanding team
- Regular outings and parties with the team
- Free on-site parking
- Relaxed dress code
